Critical Components in Strengthening Our Logistical Infrastructure
The Peoria region developed an excellent infrastructure for bringing in
raw material and exporting finished product during the heyday of manufacturing,
distilling and agriculture businesses of the 20th century. The primary driver
of the logistics demand was cost: how to get the most cargo delivered to
destination at the best price. 21st century logistics are a bit more
demanding. In response to a mandate from the Economic Development Council of
Central Illinois, a strategy group, comprised of regional leaders, aims to
evaluate how this area is doing in the competitive world of logistics, with the
