The Heart of Illinois Regional Port District (TransPORT), a six-county port district in Central Illinois that covers a 100-mile stretch of the Illinois River halfway between Chicago and St.Louis, is seeking its first Executive Director.

The initial office location will be in the Heartland Partnership family of companies offices in Peoria, Illinois, which also includes the Peoria Area Chamber and Economic Development Council for Central Illinois.

The Executive Director must possess the ability to cultivate positive relationships with various stakeholders including port users, port tenants, local industry experts, the general public, and city, county, state, and federal officials. This position will supervise work and eventually other employees. Superior communications skills, exceptional interpersonal relations abilities, and a dynamic approach to problem solving are essential.
