TransPORT will be holding its second Stakeholder Luncheon on Thursday, May 18th at 11:45 AM at the IVY Club in Peoria, Illinois (the same location as the event in October 2005).

The event will again be held in conjunction with the monthly TransPORT Board meeting, which will be held immediately after the event at 1:30 PM in the upstairs of the IVY Club. There will be a sandwich buffet luncheon, followed by a TransPORT update and a presentation from guest speaker, Steve Schellenberg.

  

Steve Schellenberg represents IMS Worldwide, a consulting firm from Houston, Texas. Steve has experience in the freight industry and has worked on projects on both the coastal and inland waterways system. He will be speaking about global and national freight trends and how that activity will affect inland ports/areas (such as the TransPORT region). Steve will discuss how TransPORT, and the companies within the TransPORT region, can prepare for these trends as well. Specifically, he’ll be focusing on how regions can make themselves stand out and how to get companies to make smart investments in the region.

 

Join us as we hear an expert perspective on the freight industry and how it relates to the TransPORT region.
